Tips for the walkers

  • The climate in this part of the province is temperate, verging on cool; warm I the summer and cold in winter.
  • Avoid, as far as possible, days of heavy rain or the days following a major storm. It might be difficult to cross certain streams.
  • Be wary of crosses. Try to avoid walking at night or with low visibility: fog is very disorientating. Bring a lamplight just in case.
  • Carry plenty of water, especially in the warmer months.
  • Comfortable shoes, boots better than sports shoes, especially in the wet season.
  • Hat and clothes that are suitable for the time of year. A rain cape and umbrella in case it rains . An umbrella can also be used as a parasol.
  • A lightly packed and evenly distributed rucksack.
  • Before talking and long distance routes, it is a good idea to get in shape with occasional walks, increasing in length over time.
  • Please close the gates and barriers behind you.
  • Take extreme care along stretches of the main road. Walk on the left.
